Retention and access

How long mission data is kept, who can reach it, and what happens when an account or a listing ends.

Two things with different lifetimes

Delivered capture is the material your mission produced. It is retained so you can return to it, and so a later mission has something to compare against. Repeat inspection is only useful if the earlier flights are still there.

The operational record is the account of what flew, when, under what approvals and conditions. It is retained because the service has to remain accountable for flights it conducted, and its retention is not tied to whether you still hold the capture.

Retention periods for both are set out in the Privacy Policy.

Who can reach your data

Access follows the account that commissioned the mission. Hosting the pod a mission was flown from does not grant access to that mission's results, and being a Fly customer at a site does not grant access to the site owner's own missions.

Deletion

You can request deletion of delivered capture. Two limits apply, and both are worth knowing before you rely on deletion as a control:

  • The operational record of the flight is retained separately, because SupaDrone remains accountable for having conducted it.
  • Material already licensed to a third party under an opt-in listing continues under that licence. Withdrawing a listing stops future offers; it does not reach back through licences already granted. See Rights and opt-in.

Export

Delivered capture and its mission record can be exported. The record travels with the capture, because imagery without its date and conditions is worth considerably less than imagery with them.
