Rights and opt-in
Who decides whether capture can be licensed, who is paid, and what is never listed.
Who decides whether capture can be licensed, who is paid, and what is never listed.
Resale of capture is opt-in by the site owner. This is the rule the whole vault rests on, and it is stated plainly rather than buried.
Nothing is listed unless the host or site owner has explicitly agreed. Imagery of a site whose owner has not opted in is never listed, under any circumstances, regardless of who commissioned the original mission.
An owner who opts in takes a share of what their listings sell for. Listing is revenue from capture that has already been paid for once.
Agreeing to share a pod for third-party missions is not the same decision as agreeing to list capture from it. Either can be on without the other, and either can be turned off.
Withdrawing stops future offers of a listing. Licences already granted run on under their existing terms.
The subject of a listing is a site, a structure or a landscape. People are never the subject, and capture is not listed for the purpose of showing them.
Aerial capture of real places can incidentally include people, vehicles and neighbouring property. How that is handled, and what is done before anything is listed, is set out in Imagery and people and in the Privacy Policy.
Commissioning a shot does not transfer the site owner's decision to you. A commissioned mission delivers to the customer who requested it, and whether that material can then be listed to others remains the site owner's call.
